Robsys expands in Europe with solar power plant cleaning robots

Robsys Board Member Tuğrul Çağatay, explaining that they export to more than 20 countries, said, “Our goal is to be a global market leader.”

It was noted that Robsys exports to more than 20 countries worldwide, has established a dealership network in European countries such as Germany, France, and Italy, and has increased its influence in the European market by opening its own branch in Germany.

Çağatay noted that they filled a gap in the Solar Power Plant (SPP) sector by producing the first domestically produced cleaning robot, at a time when the sector was still nascent in Turkey. He said, “We established Turkey’s first R&D center in this field and made our first export. We grew alongside the sector.”

Tuğrul Çağatay emphasized that panel cleaning in SPPs significantly impacts the return on investment (ROI) time, saying, “Cleaning benefits not only the panel but also the investor. Uncleaned panels can double or even triple the ROI. They can even lead to significant risks like fire.” Robsys is reinforcing its technological leadership in the industry not only with products but also with digital solutions. Çağatay stated that they have reached the final stages of their years-long R&D work on artificial intelligence-assisted fault detection, saying, “Demo versions are being released this year. Users will be able to see contamination and faults on the panel with a mobile app. They will be able to analyze system failures from a sitting position. An AI-powered cleaning robot that can move autonomously and change direction by detecting obstacles is in the testing phase.”

Global vision: Global leadership
Çağatay noted that more than half of the company’s more than 60 employees are engineers, and that this infrastructure is a significant strength for its global goals. He said, “We have also expanded into the American market. Everywhere we go, we first establish a technical service infrastructure. We reach anywhere in the world within three days. In Turkey, this timeframe is 48 hours.” Çağatay stated that Robsys’s goal is to become a global market leader. Noting that solar panels have a 30-year production warranty, Çağatay emphasized the necessity of regular cleaning of these panels. “Some power plants require monthly cleaning. This requires significant time and resource planning. We are developing technologies to manage these processes as efficiently as possible,” he said.

Robsys is also showcasing its new technologies at the Gogreen Fair, which will continue in Bursa until May 10th.
