The cleaning of skyscrapers, plazas, shopping malls, and various office buildings has become an increasingly interesting topic, especially after the rise of new high-rise buildings. Traditional cleaning methods involved scaffolding and manual labor, but these methods pose significant safety risks for both workers and equipment. Skyscrapers have large glass surfaces that require regular cleaning with appropriate materials to ensure they remain visually appealing. In this article, we will address key aspects of skyscraper window cleaning, particularly in relation to Robsys cleaning robots.
Skyscraper window cleaning is a task that requires careful attention and adherence to safety regulations due to the height of the structures. Cleaning teams may use scaffolding to access the windows or employ robots for faster, safer, and more efficient cleaning. While manual cleaning with a team can be time-consuming and risky, cleaning robots help to save time and reduce risks significantly. Additionally, robots cut labor costs by up to 8 times.
In manual cleaning, four people may take four days to clean just 1 MW of area. In contrast, robots can clean more than 1 MW per day with only two people. With robots, routine window cleaning on skyscrapers is faster and safer, reducing the time spent and preventing dirt build-up.
For a 4 MW project, robot cleaning may take just 4 days, while manual cleaning could take 20-30 days due to unforeseen issues such as sick leave, accidents, or other personnel problems.
The glass façades of skyscrapers are more prone to dirt accumulation due to environmental factors such as dust, mud, and stains, leading to a poor visual appearance. Skyscrapers are large, tall, and complex, so their window cleaning is a thorough task. While it is typically done in spring, the cleaning frequency can vary depending on the location of the building. In regions with heavy rain or snow, water stains may form on the glass, while in dry areas, dust accumulation may require more frequent cleaning.
Cleaning robots can help speed up the process and achieve higher efficiency in window cleaning.
Thanks to advancements in technology, cleaning robots equipped with specialized robotic software are able to complete window cleaning without compromising safety. These robots facilitate quick and effective cleaning of windows at high altitudes such as rooftop windows. At Robsys, after extensive R&D, we offer the SLW series, SPD series, and MVM series of window cleaning robots for skyscrapers, ensuring high-quality cleaning performance.
SKW Series
SkyWalker series machines can clean glass, composite, granite, and aluminum surfaces up to 100 meters high, providing maximum hygiene. With a climbing system and remote-control mechanisms, they clean glass surfaces without causing damage. The built-in detergent pump and reservoir allow for cleaning up to 1,500 m² per day.
SPD Series
The SPD series cleaning robots have unlimited height capabilities. Their suction cup design allows them to attach securely to the glass surface, ensuring safe and effective cleaning. These robots are particularly useful for skyscrapers over 100 meters tall. With LCD screen monitoring and a remote control panel, they offer efficient operation. The SPD series can clean up to 1,800 m² per day and features a camera system for online monitoring and easy control.
MVM Series
Designed for mobile crane use, the MVM series is ideal for cleaning windows on lower floors of skyscrapers, warehouses, and storage buildings. With a working height of up to 80 meters, these robots are compatible with mobile cranes and can be easily controlled via remote. They can also be customized to different sizes, offering versatility for various applications.
